The short version
We ask for the least we can: what we need to make your piece, send it to you, and answer your emails. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not profile you.
What we collect
When you place an order we receive your name, delivery address, email address and the details of what you bought. This comes to us from PayPal once your payment completes.
When you write to us, we keep your email and our conversation so we can help you and remember the context later.
Your shopping cart is stored in your own browser, on your device. It never reaches our servers until you start a checkout.
What we never see
We never see your card number, bank details or PayPal password. Payments are handled entirely by PayPal, and only the result of a payment is passed back to us.
Why we keep it
We use your data to make and ship your order, to contact you about that order, and to keep records of sales as required for accounting. If you have bought from us, we may also use your email address to tell you about new pieces a couple of times a year — see below, and you can opt out whenever you like.
Who else is involved
PayPal processes your payment and has its own privacy policy. Cloudflare hosts this site and delivers its pages and images. Google provides the analytics described below. Postal and courier services receive your delivery address so they can bring you your parcel. We do not share your data with anyone else.
Cookies and analytics
Some storage on this site is essential: your shopping cart is kept in your own browser so your basket survives a page refresh. This is not used to track you and cannot be switched off without breaking checkout.
We also use analytics to understand how the shop is used — which pages people visit, what they look at, and whether an order was completed. This is provided by Google Analytics and loaded through Google Tag Manager, and it sets cookies in your browser. Google processes this data on our behalf and may store it outside your country. We use it to improve the shop, never to identify you personally.
Analytics and any other non-essential cookies are only loaded if you agree to them. You can give, refuse or change your choice at any time through the cookie settings on this site, and refusing them does not affect your ability to browse or order. You can also opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google's own browser add-on.
We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell your data to anyone.
Occasional news about new pieces
If you have bought from us, we may write to you once or twice a year when a new piece leaves the workshop. Nothing more often than that, and only about our own jewelry — we never pass your address to anyone else.
You can stop these at any time: every such email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also simply reply and ask, or write to hello@forthekhorth.com. Unsubscribing changes nothing about your orders — you will still get confirmations and shipping notices, because those are part of the purchase.
If you would rather never receive them at all, tell us when you order and we will leave you out from the start.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as we are required to keep sales records. Emails are kept while they are useful for supporting you. Ask us to delete your data and we will, unless the law requires us to keep a record of a sale.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@forthekhorth.com and we will answer. If you are in the EU or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
