Frequently asked questions
What people write to us about most often — metals, sizes, delivery and returns. If your question is not here, write to us and we will answer it.
What are the pieces made of?
Every piece is cast in solid metal — sterling silver, bronze and white bronze. Nothing is plated and nothing is hollow. The silver is 925 sterling; the bronze is a warm yellow alloy that darkens gently with wear. Each listing shows which metals that particular design is offered in.
Which metal do the photographs show?
The photographs on this site were shot in bronze. The same mould is used for every metal, so the shape and the detail are identical — only the colour changes. Each product page says, under the gallery, which metal you are looking at.
What ring sizes do you make?
US 5 to 15, including half sizes — that is roughly 15.7 mm to 23.9 mm of inner diameter. Pick your size on the product page and the price, the availability and the delivery estimate update for that size.
How do I find my ring size?
Measure a ring you already wear: the inner diameter in millimetres is the number to match against the size chart on any ring page. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one — these are wide-banded rings and a wide band always sits tighter than a thin one. Still unsure? Write to us before ordering.
Why does a silver ring cost more in a larger size?
Because it is more metal. Silver is priced by weight, and a US 15 band uses noticeably more of it than a US 5. Rather than average the cost across everyone, each size is priced for what it actually takes to cast. Bronze pieces are one price for every size.
Why are beads sold in pairs?
Beads and hair rings are worn in pairs — one on each side of a braid — so they are cast and sold that way: 2, 4, 6 and so on. If you need an odd number, write to us and we will arrange it.
Is the piece in stock, or made for me?
Both happen. If the size and metal you chose are in stock, the piece ships within a day or two and usually arrives in 15–20 days. If not, it is cast for you — allow 30–40 days in total. The product page tells you which of the two applies before you add anything to the cart.
How much is shipping?
Nothing. Shipping is free and tracked to all 140 countries we deliver to, whatever the order is worth. You will find the full list on the shipping page; if your country is not on it, write to us before ordering rather than after.
Will I have to pay customs or import duty?
Possibly — that depends on your own country, not on us. Any duty or import VAT is charged by your customs authority on delivery and is not included in the price shown here.
How do I pay?
Through PayPal, in USD. You can pay from a PayPal balance or with a debit or credit card — the card option does not require a PayPal account. We never see or store your card details.
Which address does the order ship to?
The delivery address held in your PayPal account, which you can review and change on the PayPal screen before you confirm payment. Please check it is current — that is the single most common reason a parcel goes astray.
Can I return or exchange something?
Yes. If a piece is not right, write to hello@forthekhorth.com within 14 days of delivery and we will sort out a return or an exchange for another size. Return postage is yours unless the fault is ours. One caveat: a piece cast specially for you — a custom commission or an unusual size — is made to your specification, so it falls outside the standard right of withdrawal. We would still rather hear from you than have you keep something you do not wear.
Do you take custom commissions?
We do, within reason. A different metal, an unusual size, an engraving on the inside of a band, or a piece from the Warcraft world we have not cast yet — describe what you have in mind at hello@forthekhorth.com and we will tell you honestly whether it can be made and what it would cost. A new design means a new mould, so allow longer than a catalogue piece.
How should I look after it?
Take it off before swimming, the gym, and household cleaning — chlorine and detergents are what actually damage jewelry. Silver darkens over time; a soft cloth or a few minutes with a silver polish brings it straight back. Bronze builds a warm patina that many people prefer to the raw shine, and also lifts with a cloth if you would rather keep it bright. Store pieces separately so they do not scratch one another.
Are you connected with Blizzard Entertainment?
No. ForTheKhorth is an independent workshop run by fans of the game. Our pieces are our own interpretations, inspired by the world of Warcraft — they are not official merchandise and are neither licensed nor endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment.
How long have you been doing this?
Since 2017. We sold on Etsy until 2022 — 732 orders, rated 5★ — and then opened this workshop of our own, where the pieces, the moulds and the prices are ours to set. The same hands cast every order.
Still unsure about a size or a metal? Ask before you order — hello@forthekhorth.com. We would rather spend five minutes on an email than have a piece come back.
